Reston Town Center had been buzzing with anticipation for the opening of Neyla Mediterranean Bistro, which recently opened its doors and has been added to the lineup of RTC’s diverse restaurant offerings.
Opening in the space previously occupied by Paulo’s, Neyla relocated from their original Georgetown location to serve the Northern Virginia market.
Kylie and I were excited to try out their brand new happy hour menu consisting of several kinds of appetizers, flatbreads, and delicious cocktails.
Because it was too hard to decide on just one, we just had to sample one of each of their two signature happy hour cocktails – the Marrakesh Express (Citrus Vodka, Lemon, Lime, Mint, and Crushed Ice) and their “Not Your Average Sangria” (Tempranillo, Cointreau, Grilled Oranges/Apples/Lemons, and a hint of Cinnamon).
We each tried one of their flatbread pizzas as our main course – the Chicken Shawarma Flatbread was a fantastic blend of garlic whip, pickled cucumber, and arugula on a crispy wood-fired crust, while the Caprese Flatbread was a take on a classic favorite with fresh mozzarella, juicy tomatoes, basil, and savory pesto.
The best part? All items on the happy hour menu are only $5.00, making it a deliciously filling yet budget-friendly meal!
Service was top-notch – our server explained all the menu items, recommended his favorites, made sure that our glasses were never empty, and delivered our food promptly after ordering. Not that we were in any rush – Neyla’s friendly and inviting atmosphere makes you want to stick around and unwind after a busy day.
The renovations to transform Paulo’s into Neyla took place in just several weeks, completely transforming the previous space into a bright modern atmosphere yet preserving several of the former restaurant’s signature elements including the pizza brick oven. We will definitely want to go back and check out their full dinner menu.
Neyla will also soon be opening for lunch featuring Mediterranean salads-to-go, as well as weekend brunch! This is definitely a can’t-miss spot in Reston Town Center!
