If you were ever looking to sample some new cuisines or restaurants now is the time. Summer Restaurant Week is here! You’re able to get your foodie fix throughout Maryland and Baltimore, and coming soon in Virginia and DC!
If you’re not familiar with Restaurant Week, it’s a glorious week in the culinary world where restaurants offer prefix menus at a discount price! It’s the perfect way to sample some new foods or try a new restaurant without breaking the bank. Most restaurants offer a three-course dinner menu where you can pick an appetizer, entrée and dessert for around $30. Some even offer lunch menus for around $20.
We like to consider ourselves pros of Restaurant Week at Charm City Concierge and have a few helpful tips that you can use.
1- Check the RW menu with the normal menu. You want to make sure you’re getting the most bang for your buck! Check to see if the prefix options are listed on the regular menu and see how much they cost. We’ve caught a few restaurants over the years where you’re actually paying more for the restaurant week menu then you would if you just purchased everything off the regular menu. The point of restaurant week is to give patrons a deal so you want to make sure you’re getting one.
2- If an item is only listed on the prefix menu and it sounds tasty- order it! This may be your only chance to sample that dish as a lot of restaurants use this week as an opportunity to use local and in season items. You can always go back to the restaurant to try the other dish.
3- The more the merrier! We are BIG fans of going to your RW pick with a group! This way you can try more of the dishes without having to spend more money. Plus some restaurants have discount on bottles of wine!
4- Can’t make it to any restaurants? A lot of the restaurants usually extend their offering for another week, so don’t sweat it if you can’t make it the first week.
5- Book a reservation. A lot of participating restaurants book up fast! Most restaurants even have a helpful link right to Open Table. If you need help making a reservation, contact your concierge!
