Road Trip to Rehoboth!
Posted on August 08, 2016

Want a short getaway without the airport hassle? Just a 2.5 hour drive from Baltimore City is the charmingly quaint beach town of Rehoboth, DE. A perfect weekend getaway for couples, families, and anyone in between!

Hit the beach for a day of sandy fun! The public beach is located off Rehoboth Ave. just past the famous mile long board walk. Take a dip in the ocean, build some sand castles, and get some lunch at one of the many restaurants within walking distance. If you prefer a bit more privacy, the state park beach is just a short drive away. Here you can bring your car, dog, and fishing rod to the beach!

Don’t forget put your name on the waiting list at the incredibly popular Grotto Pizza restaurant! There are several locations, but the boardwalk location on Rehoboth Ave is arguably the best! While waiting for your table be sure to grab some Thrashers French fries (with vinegar!) next door and sit on the boardwalk benches for some lively people watching while you wait for your table.

Rehoboth Avenue has no shortage of cute shops. Whatever you are looking for, you will find it! Forgot your sunscreen and shovel? No problem, pop into one of the many old timey convenience stores and pick some up! Stop in one of sweet book shops to snag a beach read or a branch of the popular Maryland boutique South Moon Under for a trendy outfit.

Fun Land is a must if you have children with you, or if you are a kid at heart. Spend hours playing arcade games, going on rides, or scaring yourself in the haunted house! You won’t be disappointed with all of the activities at Fun Land. Prefer something a little more active? Take a bike ride through the picturesque tree-lined streets of the Henlopen neighborhood, or through the paved 3 mile bike trail at the Cape Henlopen state park for beautiful scenic views.

Need a night out? Lively Dewey Beach is just 10 minutes away, and has lots of Night Life to offer. See a live concert at the Rock and Roll Bar, Bottle and Cork. Dance the night away at one of the many bars on the bay! Rusty Rudder, Starboard, and The Lighthouse are all great spots!
