Summer is still in full swing and the steamy events just keep on coming. From crawls to carnivals there is certainly something for everyone!


Washington, DC Events:

Sweet Treats Ride sweet treats ride

Time: Saturday,10am-1pm
Cost: $20
If you are a cyclist with a sweet tooth, join the ride at Woodley Park Metro and ride to Pleasant Pops, Captain Cookie, The Milkman, and finally make your way to end at Sweet Lobby. There is something sweet for everyone! Please bring about $20 for your treats, a helmet and an empty stomach!

Old School Hithe hip hopp Hop Bar Crawl

Cost: $15 online, $20 at the door
Join the masses for a U Street bar crawl, celebrating a different genre of old school hip hop at every location!  For this crawl they are extending the DJ sets by an hour and 4 bars will be open simultaneously for you to crawl to at your own pace!

Sahara Dance presents a magical evening of revelry, music and dance! The event can be described as “Mardi Gras meets Middle Eastern”, featuring belly dance performances by students, faculty and friends! Redeem your program after the show for a complimentary intro to Belly Dance lesson.

Come out for live music and unlimited beer samples at Brewers on the Block, which kicks off the 7th annual DC Beer Week! This event brings almost 20 local breweries together for patrons to sample beer and enjoy food from Red Apron and Bidwell Restaurant.

Maryland Events:

Baltimore’s farmer’s market and bazaar is open for the season! There will be a huge variety of items available for purchase including fruits and vegetables, baked goods, dairy products, and dozens of food vendors! Vegan food items will be available.

The Baltimore Convention Center is playing host to the world’s largest convention for “My Little Pony” fans for the third straight year. There will be vendors, live music, guest appearances from voice actors and writers, and more!

The 37th installment of this convention celebrating everything from “Star Trek” and beyond is coming to town! There will be famous guests, workshops for writers, game room time and a dance Saturday evening. This is the perfect event for science fiction lovers!

Experience the true taste of the Chesapeake Bay at the area’s premier seafood festival. There will be 32 food vendors, arts and craft vendors, charity raffle, live entertainment, a silent auction, and more! There will also be a concert Friday evening featuring Ronnie Milsap, tickets are available online.

Virginia Events:

Bark & Wag Society: Group Walk at Burke Lake

This August, it’s all about your furriest family members and enjoying good times at great dog-friendly places all across NoVA!  Exercise is good for the both two-legged and four-legged friends, so kick off our Saturday with a group walk at Burke Lake Park. Lace your sneakers and leash up your pup, and let’s get walking!

Great Grapes! Wine & Food Festivalgreat grapes

Great Grapes has become Virginia’s premier wine festival with hundreds of wines available. Attendees receive a souvenir tasting glass and stroll from tent to tent, tasting and sampling the rich heritage of Virginia vines. Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

The Arlington County Fair is a summer family event complete with carnival rides, live animal shows, musical entertainment, arts and craft exhibits, and a variety of international foods. There will also be dozens of local crafters and vendors with a variety of goods.

Grab a picnic basket, some lawn chairs and come out to enjoy a free concert that will provide entertainment for adults and children. The concert is free, but for a small fee you can enjoy a “make- your-own sundae bar” with a variety of toppings.
