You remember the Nationals right? The baseball team that brought World Series dreams alive in the town of Washington DC.  Get ready for the crack of the bat at spring training! What better way to get ready than by joining the fan activities at Nats Fest? Batting cages, games, mascot, and player photo stations and so much more will greet fans.


National Symphony Orchestra: Christoph Eschenbach, conductor/ Dan Zhu, Violin, plays Mozart

Making his NSO debut, Dan Zhu, “an artist of affecting humility and beautiful tone production” (The Strad), performs Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5. Maestro Eschenbach conducts a program that includes works by Beethoven and Bartók.

NSO Teddy Bear Concert: Bears, Bears Everywhere

Back by popular demand! It’s a big bear world out there, and every sort of bear has its own look and growl. NSO musicians take a peek at adorable bears and the sounds of their homelands–music that is as unique as they are. Ages 3–5.

The National Ballet of Canada: Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

The National Ballet of Canada brings an outrageous, eye-popping theatrical production of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon, that is “certain to impress, delight, and amuse” (Toronto Sun).

The Sugarloaf Crafts Festival in Chantilly features more than 250 of the nation’s most accomplished fine artists and craft designers offering their one-of-a-kind work in functional and decorative pottery, sculpture, glass, jewelry, fashion, wood, metal, furniture, home accessories, photography, and fine art. The Festival also includes delicious gourmet foods for sampling and purchase, live music, interactive children’s entertainment, and live demonstrations by talented artists.

The main movie house has quietly become one of the best comedy stages in town thanks to some savvy bookings. (Comedic heavy hitters such as Lizz Winstead and Patton Oswalt, and more recently, Kristin Schaal, who played the stalker in HBO’s “Flight of the Conchords” have performed there.) But for a real deal, hit Saturday’s free open mike in the intimate Grill, featuring as many as 20 local comics who hit the stage in quick succession. Once in a blue moon, a headliner from the main room makes his or her way over for a quick appearance after a show.

The Maryland State Police support Special Olympics Maryland with this fundraiser, which features a day packed with tailgaiting, live music, carnival games, spirited costume contest, live remotes by 98 rock and WBAL-AM, lottery drawings, and much much more!
