Block Party at the Jazz Lot

Time: Friday, 4pm-12pm
Join the first modern Jazz Block Party, hosted by Union Kitchen and East River Jazz as part of DC’s Jazz Festival. The block party will have jazz music for dancing, with headliners including Marc Cary, Braxton Cook Quartet, Butcher Brown and more! Also at the event, a mass of food trucks and a full bar to indulge.
Smithsonian Folklife Festival 2014

The annual Smithsonian Folklife Festival celebrates the various cultural tradions around the world, this year’s theme being China: Tradition and the Art of Living & Kenya: Mambo Poa. The event, sponsored by the Center of Folklife and Cultural Heritage, includes crafts and cooking performances, storytelling, cultural discussions, and music and dance throughout the entire day.
Drink the District: Red, White ‘n Brew

Time: Saturday, 1pm-4pm or 6pm-9pm
Celebrate America in the best way possible—unlimited beer and wine, Made in America only, obviously! The event gives participants unlimited tastings of the 100+ beers and wines on site, unlimited full pours, live music, lawn games, as well as access to some of DC’s best food trucks (not included in ticket cost).
The Source Theatre

The Source Festival is dedicated to showcasing new work from all across the nation. The festival helps those in the performing arts field with its unique mentorship program that pairs leading Washington theatre artists with early and mid-career directors. This year the festival presents Full-Length Plays, 10-Minute Plays and Artistic Blind Dates that will explore the themes of Mortality, Quests and Revenge.
Bobby McKey’s Kids’ Day
Bobby McKey’s Dueling Piano Bar

Enjoy the afternoon with your family and friends at Bobby McKey’s for the famous dueling piano show! The venue is normally open to adults only, but will open up for an afternoon of family fun!
