The Capitol Steps

Cost: $40.50 per ticket
The Capitol Steps began as a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize the very people and places that employed them. Song parodies and skits with themes ripped from the headlines characterize this very special type of entertainment you won’t find anywhere else.


Ice Skating at Washington Harbour
Washington Harbor
Georgetown, DC
Time: Friday, 12-10pm; Saturday, 10am-10pm; Sunday, 10am-7pm
Cost: Adults, $10; Children, $9; Skate Rental, $6
At almost 12,000 square feet, the Washington Harbour Ice Rink is DC’s largest outdoor ice skating venue. Skate alongside the Potomac River and enjoy a hot beverage from one of the rink-side restaurants.


Joy of Motion Dance Center
Kennedy Center

Time: Sunday, 6pm
Cost: FREE
Dance is for everyone – this cardio class on the Millennium Stage is open to all skill levels and reinforces the fun fitness goals you’ve set for the new year!



Yoga in the Park

Time: Saturday, 9-10am
Cost: $2 for ages 10 and up (adults must accompany minors)
End the long, cold first week of the New Year with an all levels yoga class! Take in the splendid views of the park while enjoying this gentle session. Mats will be available on a first come first serve basis.


New Year Nature Hike and Cider Sipping

If your new year resolutions were to stay healthy or spend more time with family, this event has you covered! Go for a fun hike and learn how to make kid-friendly wassail, or mulled cider.


Free Family Sundays at the Baltimore Museum of Art

Take your creative kids to this fun museum! Hands on art workshops that go along with the exhibits visited will be on-site.



Paint Nite at Tysons Biergarten

Artist Talk with Ephraim Rubenstein

This Friday is a one in a lifetime experience to meet and ask questions to the celebrated artist and educator, Ephraim Rubenstein.  Hear about the stories on how he excelled in his artistic abilities and some insights he has for new and upcoming artists.

Have you ever wondered about the history of beer & brewing?  Come find out as tour guides direct you on a one mile, 2.5-hour, tour of downtown Leesburg.  Taste three local breweries with 4 ounce pours along the way.  The package includes a 4-ounce taste of beer at each brewery, a packaged snack, and a souvenir Leesburg Brew Crawl beer glass.  You and your friends will love the taste and history but make sure to wear your walking shoes!
