Summer is in full swing and the steamy events just keep on coming. From festivals to fishing there is certainly something for everyone!


Washington, DC Events:

Half Street Fairgrounds

Cost: FREE
Truckeroo is a monthly festival held showcasing 20+ food trucks from the DMV area. It’s unusual that you get a chance to taste so many delicious food trucks in a place that is kid and adult friendly!  Enjoy live entertainment, friendly faces, sunny days and a wide variety. 

All American Beer Fest

Celebrate America’s Birthday at the Fairgrounds with 45+ breweries pouring 80+ beers, live entertainment, party favors, and more! Gather your friends, rock your red, white and blue and get ready for a day full of Star Spangled festivities with your closest friends.

French Festival

Time: Saturday, 9:30am-7pm
Cost: $18. Discount admission available for seniors, members, students, and children
Celebrate France’s Bastille Day at this celebration of 18th-century French decorative arts! Attendees will enjoy live dance and music performances, an exquisite collection of 18th-century French decorative arts, Hillwood’s luscious summer gardens, and fictitious French Nobles.

Lotus & Water Lily Festivallotus and lily

The annual Lotus and Water Lily Festival features a spectacular display of lotus and water lilies in full bloom along with dragonflies, butterflies, and other residents of the sanctuary. Enjoy gardening workshops, face painting, lotus tea tastings, various exhibits and demonstrations, and traditional Asian & African dancing performances!

Maryland Events:

Maryland’s Polish Festival

Cost: $8 per person (12 & under free)
Bring your family and friends out to the annual Maryland Polish festival! There will be Polish and American food and drink vendors, live music and entertainment, Polish items available for sale, activities and more!

Annapannapolis irish festolis Irish Festival

Time: Friday, Gates Open at 4pm and Saturday, Gates Open at 11am
Cost: Friday – $15; Saturday – $25
Join in on this great Irish festival featuring over 70 vendors and musical entertainers bringing a taste of The Emerald Isle to Annapolis!

Baltimore-Washington One Caribbean Carnivalone carribean

Time: Saturday  & Sunday,  12pm-10pm
Cost: $10 entrance fee / $15 admission
Come out to this carnival featuring food, drinks, entertainment and crafts. There will be a parade starting at 12pm at 900 E 33rd Street, traveling along Alameda Street to St. Lo Drive. The festival will continue at Lake Clifton Park until 10pm.

Baltimore’s Farmers’ Market and Bazaar is open for the season! There will be a huge variety of items available for purchase including fruits and vegetables, baked goods, dairy products, and dozens of food vendors! Vegan food items will be available.

Virginia Events:

Castleton Festival

Cost: $20+
The Castleton Festival is a summer music festival that brings classical music, theater and opera to the scenic hills of Rappahannock County. Each year, rising singers, musicians, makeup and costume artists, technicians and stagehands work with experienced professionals for eight weeks of rehearsals and performances.

Alexandria’s annual celebration includes children’s activities, award presentations, and live music from the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra, fireworks, and birthday cake for all! Attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets while enjoying food and beverages sales.

Mad Fox Brewing Co 5th Anniversary

Annual Ocean City Tuna Tournament

Everyone is welcome to come watch the weigh-ins of the largest tuna tournament on the East Coast.

19th Annual Running of the Bull
Rehoboth Beach
The Starboard, 2009 Coastal Hwy

Time: Saturday 2pm
Cost: Free
Join us to celebrate the Festival of San Fermin, which is held in Pamplona, Spain. All runners are invited to meet at the Starboard from 11:30am to 1:30pm to enjoy music, drinks, and pre-run festivities. Then at 2pm the 8-10 block Bull Run begins followed by the annual bullfight.

*Please make note that the bull is two people in a bull costume.

Movies On The Sound – Wizmovies on the soundard Of Oz

Cost: $10
The movie is free, but a $10 donation is welcomed per car to go towards fund membership for low-income and special needs families. There are concessions available, but you are also welcome to bring your own food and drinks into the event; just no alcohol. To add to the fun there are several activities to participate in. There will be a rock wall, face painting, snow cones, and more. The gates open at 7pm so you have plenty of time to enjoy the activities and the evening before the movie begins at dusk. Don’t forget to bring blankets and lawn chairs.
