MommyCon 2016

If you are an expectant parent, this is the place to be this weekend!  MommyCon is dedicated to bringing modern parents and mothers-to-be together with a focus on natural and organic parenting methods.  Seminars include car seat safety, childproofing, baby gear and more!

Exhibit Debut: Laughing Matters
National Museum of American History
14th St. and Constitution Ave. NW, DC

The stories of Phillis Diller, Carol Burnett and Miss Piggy highlight the power of laugher and show how these three women paved the way for the modern female comedian and women in general.  The exhibit will be on display through October.

Knot & Grain Pop Up Shop

For those who love all things wood, Knot & Grain artisan craft show and online marketplace will be hosting a pop up shop this weekend in DC.  Featured items include specialty wooden goods made and designed by local artisans.

116th Maryland German Festival
Maryland State Fairgrounds

Enjoy beer, bratwurst, pretzels and everything German at the 116th Maryland German Festival! Get into the spirit and breakout those costumes, it’s time to celebrate! Be on the lookout for Grammy nominated artist, Alex Meixner!

Summer Madness Celebration and Expo

We may be midway through summer, but that doesn’t mean we need to slow down! Enjoy this fun-filled summer day including food trucks, face painting, a fashion show, game center, yoga and more.

Need a comic book to complete your collection? Dealers from all across Maryland will be coming together to sell you comics for $1 or less. Stop by because you never know what you may find!

The Plaza Party

Enjoy live music and games in the Village Plaza. Hear your favorite bands, challenge your friends to corn-hole, KanJam and more games. In the event of rain, the concert will be held in Smokehouse Live.

Carriage Day

Check out Carriage Day, a free community and family event featuring carriages of all shapes, sizes and eras. Carriage Day will host over 20 historic and refurbished carriages from the Piedmont Driving Club (PDC) and Colonial Williamsburg displayed across the grounds of the NSLM.

Special Family Tours at Gadsby’s Tavern

Cost: $5 adults, $3 children ages 5-12, 4 and under are FREE

Stationed guides will allow families to tour the museum at their own pace. The tour ends with activities in the ballroom that explore the science behind the historic ice well, including making (and tasting) ice cream!
