The weekend weather may be unpredictable, so we’ve customized a lineup of indoor and outdoor experiences celebrating history, fantastic food from home and abroad, and springtime favorites that can be enjoyed wherever the weather situates you!


WASHINGTON, DC EVENTS

La Grande Fête: DC Francophonie Festival

Music, dancing, food and drink from worldwide embassies of French influence, giveaways, and networking opportunities abound at this specially-designed event for young professionals 21+ seeking unique and internationally-minded after-hours fun.

March for Our Lives

Pennsylvania Ave between 3rd and 12th Sts NW

Children and families will take to the streets in DC and in cities nationwide to stand up for their safety in schools. Whether you plan to attend or will simply be in the area, be mindful of street closures and an influx of crowds at public transportation hubs.

National Cherry Blossom Festival

Tidal Basin and surrounding areas

It’s finally cherry blossom season! This weekend’s lineup of signature events includes the Opening Ceremony at Warner Theatre on Sunday, and Cherry Blast Friday and Saturday at Artechouse, as well as a Field of Tulips on Friday and Saturday at CityCenter, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s blossom celebration on Sunday. Maryland’s Fabulous Fare: A Taste of History

MD Historical Society

Indulge in an array of regional cuisine, traditional dishes, and libations central to our state’s history and culture. The MD Historical Society will serve small plates and cocktails adapted from historic recipes found in their collections.

Artworks: Uncorked and Untapped

Artworks is a Maryland Public Television series that showcases established, emerging, and experimental artists from across the country working in all creative categories. This special event celebrating the series features unlimited tastings of local beer and wine, internationally-inspired hors d’oeuvres, regional artists creating original works live at the event with a raffle entry for a chance to win the completed piece, and more.

Maryland Day: Orioles and Oaks

Aqua Egg Hunt

Herndon Community Center Pool

Time: Saturday 1:30-5:30PM
Cost: $10 includes one child and one guardian

A unique underwater egg hunt – children will collect as many floating and sinking eggs as possible in an age-designated timeslot. After the hunt, stay for an open swim beginning at 4:30.

Philly Wine Week: Opening Corks
