Newseum Nights Loves the 60s

Party like it’s 1966! Hang loose at this totally jammin’ costume party with prizes, retro cocktails and apps, and groovy vendors to get your glam on like hair and makeup help, Urban Stems wearable florals, and paper crowns. Entertainment includes 60s board games, photo booth, DIY protest buttons, Civil Rights gallery talks (this is a museum party, after all), and of course, primo 60s tunes all night.


Smithsonian Food History Weekend: Many Flavors, One Nation

Where does our food in America really come from? How have the meals we eat come to shape our cultures and culinary traditions? Join foodie experts and inquisitive eaters at roundtable discussions, special dishes prepared for the festival at various DC restaurants, and cooking demonstrations and activities on a variety of topics from culinary diplomacy to chocolate to gardening.


Nightmare on M Street

Come dressed in your most spooktacular costumes for DC’s best Halloween bar crawl. Venues throughout the Dupont and Farragut neighborhoods feature drink specials, waived cover charges, and costume prizes – check out the website for participating bars and ticket information.




Cockeysville Fall Festival

This family fun festival includes music, games,  moon bounces, a wine tasting, car show and more! Proceeds benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Baltimore.

Start Halloween early this year with some fun trick or treating in Belvedere Square! Watch fun dance performances, decorate pumpkins and more.



Fields of Fear

Prepare to be frightened in the cornightmare as you walk through a corn field full of aliens, zombies, clowns and more.  If that isn’t enough scare for you, jump on the Dark Side Hayride or take another walk through the deep dark forest.


Haunted Happening

Downtown Manassas

Make it a family outing!  Dress in your best costume and go trick-or-treating to local merchants and shops in Historic Downtown Manassas.  They will also be dressed in costume and ready to hand out candy.  Don’t forget to sign in and enter the costume contests to win cool prizes!


Lee-Fendall House Halloween Pumpkin Hunt

Join The Lee-Fendall House at their 4th Annual Halloween Pumpkin Hunt.  Send your kids on a scavenger hunt for the hundreds of hidden toy-filled pumpkins in the garden.  Other activities such as crafts, spooky stories, and a costume parade will be sure to keep the kids entertained.  Refreshments and prizes will be provided.
