National Book Festival
Washington Convention Center

Over 100 authors of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, young adult, and children’s books gather at this annual festival for presentations and panels on their works. There are plenty of activities for children, and the convention center’s lower level becomes a marketplace for books and signings.

 

Labor Day Concert
West Lawn of the Capitol

To celebrate Labor Day and the upcoming performing arts season, the National Symphony Orchestra invites you to a free patriotic concert on the West Lawn. Gates open at 3pm, so pack a picnic and enjoy the pre-concert rehearsal.
