DC summers are filled with tons of free outdoor concerts and movies! Enjoy beautiful scenery and live music at Jazz in the Garden, Capitol Riverfront Concert Series, Live! 2. Summer Celebrations
DC is known to have tons of great summer festivals with different themes for all types of interests! Some upcoming foodie favorites are Truckeroo, DC Fest and Curbside Cookoff. Enjoy some family fun at the H Street Festival or at Summer Fest. You can even jam to local bands at Biscuit Jam and Rock the City!
3. Tour the City
We may live in the nation’s capitol; but have you really taken the chance to soak it all in? Be a tourist for a day and visit all the museums, monuments, statues,memorials, parks, and landmarks you haven’t before. We even created a guide last year to help!
4. Get Competitive
The past two summers, the Capitol Dragon Boat Regetta has come to the DC Southwest Waterfront for dragon boat races and the 2016 race is scheduled for August 27! So grab 20 of your friends and put together a team for a day of racing! All teams will compete in at least three races; giving you tons of opportunities to take home a trophy or a medal. This one day event is free to spectators and is an fun and unique way to enjoy a summer day in Washington DC. So if you are not in the mood to compete, still swing by and check out all the action!
5. Brew-Through the City
DC has has a ton of breweries pop up in the part few years; so why not take a day to enjoy them all? Taste your way through the local brews on tap at some of the best breweries in the city!
