Do you have trouble finding time to go to the gym in your hectic schedule? Read below for 5 suggestions to help you stay active throughout your day!
1. Stay active while you’re at work.
Try getting up from your desk every hour for a 5 minute walk to stretch your muscles. Also, try visiting your coworker if you have a question rather than emailing or calling them. It’s not good for your body to stay sitting at your desk all day long. Move around and when you can, take the stairs instead of the elevator!
2. Get in a quick home workout.
Not everyone has time to go to the gym, but everyone can find time to squeeze in a quick workout! You may need to adjust your schedule in able to do this. Maybe it’s waking up 30 minutes earlier to get in some core or strength training, or maybe it’s taking the kids outside for a walk and fresh air. Either way, there is always room for staying active.
3. Take a walk after you eat.
Walking after eating eases digestion. It will also help you feel less lethargic when you return to your desk. Even if you only have time for 10 minute walk, every little bit helps!
4. Choose the longer route.
Whether it’s choosing the farthest parking spot, biking instead of driving, or choosing to walk to the convenience store down the road, take a route that will require you to take extra steps.
5. Go outside.
If you have kids or pets playing outside, why not join them? Not only will you be doing your body some good, but you will be spending quality time with your family!
